Hey Guys:
I have been a big fan of both the NFL and the CFL for years. I was wondering what, if any interest, may come from a possible CFL all-star team versus an NFL team? Do you think that it would create any interest from the NFL? I believe that the CFL all-star team may give an NFL team a real run for their money. What do the rest of you think?

Welcome bro.
I think a game like that would be in the CFL's best interest as most Americans [that I know of] really are not interested in the CFL.
Personally I like th NFLEurope better as those players make NFL teams on a more regular basis.
It "could" happen but I don't think it will.

Welcome! I see this is your first post, I hope you enjoy the site that Matt so generously maintains. Now, Im really not trying to disrespect the thread, but here is my reply:
HELLLLLLL NOOOOOOO! There is a reason that guys play in the CFL, its because their skills are not ready for the NFL. Any game like the one described above would be a blow out. And please don't go into the fact that several players from the CFL have later gone into the NFL, that is the exception. Yes, the CFL has given us Warren Moon and Doug Flutie, but the lineman and linebackers in the NFL would run over and through any CFL team of allstars. That's just my opinion.

I have to agree with you here. I view that about the same way as I do when people claim that college teams could beat NFL teams. I think that might be more likely than a CFL team beating an NFL team. Especially if it was a team of NFL all stars. I think that a CFL all star team would have a shot against, say....the Texans, but definitely not an NFL team.
Just one person, you might have forgot: Joe Horn came from the CFL

The NFL would never go for it. Publicly, the NFL *thinks* of the CFL as a developmental league and doesn’t have NFL caliber players. To have NFL players playing CFL players would invalidate that perception…not only that but they’d be advertising the CFL by playing them.
I doubt the CFL’s best player can go toe to toe with the NFL’s best. They’d get a good thrashing.
Can the CFL's best beat USC or Texas? I'm not sure!

Is it the seeming size diference that makes the NFL better? I have watched both leagues many times and I have to be honest guys - I dont see that big a difference in talent. We are talking about the CFL pulling together 22 of its best players - players that I think are probably capable of playing in the NFL if given a fair shot. That is why I think that this game would not be near as one sided as some would have us think. I guess the only "true" way of knowing for sure is if it ever happened. Until that day, we are all just speculating. One more thing: I remember in 1972 when the Canadian hockey team was supposed to wipe the Russian team all over the ice and we all know what hapened in that series. What about the rest of you guys, any opnions?

Why would we send NFL all stars when any college team in the top 25 could whoop the all-stars from America Jr?

I used to watch the CFL back when they had a team in Baltimore. Maybe times have changed, but I could tell the talent difference easily. The CFL'ers were a clearly a beat or two slower. The window's of opportunity were larger in the CFL: QB's had more margin for error, the holes were slightly bigger for RB's, etc. The speed and power of the NFL players was just so clearly a cut above the CFL guys.
