OK, so we haven't really talked about next season's opponents since the list was release during our playoff run. For starters we are playing the NFC South and AFC South. In addition to teams in those two divisions we play the Rams and the Vikings. None of the teams we play scare me but I am worried about several of them. In particular the Panthers, the Colts, and the Falcons. All the division games are winnable as we proved that this year.
Home Games:
When the Skins are playing at home no team should beat them. I mean, how could they, with continuity and the crowd and playoff experience?
Dallas Cowboys - This is going to be a good game and very close. I highly doubt the Cowboys can beat us at home.
New York Giants - Eli matures but so does our defense and offense. And if they still have Plexiglas on the roster count this as a win.
Philadelphia Eagles - Has their window of opportunity closed? I don't think they'll be a bad team next year but they aren't going to be good enough to win on the road.
Atlanta Falcons - Aggressive defense plus a highly mobile QB is a dangerous combination. Contrary to what some might think, if you don't close every single window on Vick he'll burn you running and passing. Oh and Dunn will be playing and you know the little bugger can run as well.
Carolina Panthers - You can't say enough good things about this team. They have the defense, they have an offense that's good enough to score 25 points a game. They ware in our own image.
Minnesota Vikings - New coaches, no way they win this game especially if we play them at the beginning of the season.
Jacksonville Jaguars - Good defense, mediocre offense. Still, they are dangerous team. I like the Skins at home though.
Tennessee Titans - They are in rebuilding mode and they'll be playing a playoff team from the season before. They’ll need help from god to beat the Skins.
Away:
Away games look pretty formidable but we'll be playing some “soft” teams.
Dallas Cowboys - This is going to be a tough game, I've never been comfortable playing in Dallas but I can't really see the Cowboys improving drastically. Plus, it doesn't help that they lost their OC Payne or whatever his title was.
New York Giants - I hate the Meadowland more than Texas Stadium. You saw what happened this past season. I can't really see us winning this one.
Philadelphia Eagles - Their defense will still be good, their offense? No Running game + no receivers = stinky offense with McNabb scrambling for his life. They'll be even worse if they lose Jon Runyan to FA.
New Orleans Saints - New coaches! If the Skins can't beat them, we're in trouble ya'll.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - This should be a good defensive battle just like in the playoffs. Look for the Skins to come out on top because the Bucs will still have offensive line issues.
St. Louis Rams - Martz gone, poor defense, and a running game that was last heard of in 2000 doesn't bode well for the Rams.
Houston Texans - They'll have New Coaches and will be rebuilding once again. Mr. Bush, Mr. Taylor would like to welcome you into the NFL. God help them if we play them in the first few weeks of the season.
Indianapolis Colts - Poor bastards, they are good for at least 12 wins next year. I wonder if the blitz them, blitz them and blitz them so more philosophy will work next season.
The Ultimate Question:
Can the Redskins win 12 or more games next year?
