SC Skins Fan 01-15-2006, 01:34 AM They exceeded all my expectations. I never thought Brunell could put together another season like this and Moss played better than I could have ever hoped. They were in every game they played this year except for that debacle against the Giants and they play with more heart and dedication than I can remember seeing in a Redskins squad since the first time Joe Gibbs strolled the sidelines. I am a bit worried about how much longer Brunell can keep going and wonder what sort of progress Jason Campbell has made this year. I'd also like to see the team get a receiver the complement Santana, and though I have not seen a complete list of potential free agents, I do know that Reggie Wayne is eligible for free agency and would love to see him in Burgundy and Gold. A pass rushing DE would also be a nice upgrade. Having said that, I hope Synder and Cerrato don't go crazy like the did last time the Skins made the playoffs. They really destroyed the chemistry of that '99 squad when the brought in all those free agents and especially by signing Jeff George (a T.O. signing might be the equivalent this year). I think Joe Gibbs has full control and won't let anything like that happen, and hopefully they will look to the relative quite of last offseason and see that making a big splash in March does not equate to wins in January.
Having said that, thanks for an incredible season and for making it so much fun to cheer for the Redskins!

Schneed10 01-15-2006, 08:31 AM I'm just chock full of love today. I just feel so grateful to look at my calendar, see that it's the middle of January, and we're only now just starting to embark on the offseason.
I love this team. I love Dan Snyder for giving Gibbs all that he needs to turn the team around. Dan Snyder deserves a lot of credit, he has been a tremendous owner over the last two years. I love Gregg Williams for his passion and loyalty to the Skins, he's staying! I love all the players, from Cooley's goofy personality to the grit of the O-line and D-line to Portis's press conferences. But most of all, I LOVE Joe Gibbs. Seeing him back on the sidelines in a playoff game just does my heart right. He is a true leader, and I feel so blessed to know that he is going to be here this offseason, continuing to build on what is already a team I am in love with.
This team exceeded my expectations. I was hoping for 9-7 or 10-6 and maybe a wildcard. But to come back from 5-6 to win 5 in a row, make the playoffs, and win a playoff game, that just shows grit, determination, and good character. The 10-6 result wasn't really surprising, but the way they got there was surprising, given the state of the team last year. The way the players interact and respect one another, and the way they love their coaching staff, it just makes me feel lucky to be a part of it as a fan.
The pride in this organization is back. Hail to the Redskins!
GoSkins! 01-15-2006, 08:33 AM Definitely exceeded mine... if someone would have told me back in August that the Skins would go 10-6 and win a playoff game I would have been pretty happy about that.
We had a hell of a season, from sweeping the Cowboys and Eagles, to winning 5 in a row to claw our way into the playoffs, I'm very satisfied and it's really fun to be a Redskins fan again!
And when it came down to it, if we had Patten and Randy Thomas, I think we would have beat the Hawks. (Maybe just Thomas).
Great job Williams and Gibbs. Fill a couple of holes and take one more step in 2006!
Sammy Baugh Fan 01-15-2006, 09:06 AM I want a RING for those guys cus there are some warriors on that team.
I woke up feeling like we did good and I'm not disappointed.
Sweep Dallas, Philly, challenge for the EAST, did NOT one and done in the playoffs! Incredible!!!!!!
The BEST thing is THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF WHAT WE WILL BE! Most coach's cannot take a team (ex. Houston) past where we are today! Joe and company will have a much solidified squad on the field next year! THANKYOU Joe for the memories!!!!!!!!!!!-AGAIN-HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!
LongTimeSkinsFan 01-15-2006, 09:10 AM I was looking at an 8-8 and would have been content with it since it's been ages since we've been at 500 or above (I think the last year we topped 500 was Marty S. as coach). To go 10-6 and get into the divisional round of the playoffs easily exceeded my expectations and I'm pleased with this year as well as excited for next year. Let's fill our holes in the off season with FAs and draft picks where appropriate and continue our climb to dominance in the NFL. With continuity in the coaching staff and roster and a few upgrades, we should be in a position next year to at least reach the NFC championship round.
That Guy 01-16-2006, 04:09 AM i was really mad we were so thoroughly outplayed on saturday (despite the turnovers)... then i realized how injured and worn out the team realy was and how long its been since they had a break (AZ was the last gimme game over 6 weeks ago and that went to the wire, our bye was 14 weeks ago, our best OL was gone, our #2 WR which really did help the WR production had been on IR forever, or defense hasn't had healthy corners all season etc etc)
It just wasn't meant to be, but i did like how we still had a shot all the way to the end (And we converted more of those crazy 3rd and 20s thanks to one Santana Moss). If gibbs can improve his playcalling as much as he did last year and ditch sitting on leads with 40+ minutes to go etc, i think we have a real shot next year (with a hopefully MUCH easier schedule) instead of an outside longshot.

skinsttw 01-16-2006, 08:50 AM Skins had a great season. I was expecting 9-7 and an outside shot at wildcard status, but I did not think we would go far in the playoffs. I was stunned at how well Brunell and Moss played this year. I did not think we would lose some close AFC games by giving up big plays, but we did lose a few key D starters. We definitely have a nice core to build around for next year and its nice to know the coaching staff is stable in the offseason.
It is nice to beat Dallas, even nicer to beat them twice.
LBrown43 01-16-2006, 08:58 AM Doing what they did in "crunch time" and running off the 6 straight, they far exceeded. Now next year might be a different story. We will see come training camp.
