Online Betting Question

OK, normally I just place bets with my friends on the spreads and that's it. Today I signed up online to bet on the Skins and it was REALLY confusing. I bet a "Straight Up Wager" on the Skins at +9.5.

What scenarios will win me some money?

Skins win outright, or they lose by 9 or less.

Yeah, I just f*cking knew that if we lost, it would be by 10 to add that insult to injury.

You should've bought it up to 10, that way you would've pushed. Always buy it up to 10 or if you're giving up 10, buy it down. Same with 7 or 3.
