If we win, I'm definitely printing this sucker out and taking it to Vegas when I go right after the Super Bowl. Thanks, Warpath!

I almost smacked my mom for taking a Skins ornament off the top of our X-mas tree before the last philly game because I put it up about an hour before the St. Louis game and we hadn't lost since. During the first half of that philly game I kept giving her dirty looks and she kept apologizing profusely like she was actually the reason that we were playing so poorly. Obviously the ornament had no impact on the game; just like the fact that I had to watch the game while wearing a tux as opposed to my normal Skins hat/fleece combo last week because I was at a wedding didn't matter.

I used to think the clothes I wore or the chair that I was sitting in or whatever affected the game but it really doesn't. The only lucky charm that this team needs is St. Gibbs, and I'm pretty sure he'll be there on Saturday.

This team makes its own luck, we're just witnesses...

Amen, Art.......

But it can't hurt to wear exactly the same jersey/shorts combo 7 times in a row, can it?

What does superstition hurt? Why tempt fate? You can't prove that fans and their rituals have any less affect on the game than he can prove that it does. Maybe it is silly but it is one of his way of enjoying the game and his team. Don't be so rude as to put down something like that. There are a lot of people who'll probably get peeved because they do a lot of the same things.

Absolutely. I make my son wear the same Skins sweatsuit every Friday to daycare, and then my wife has to wash it so he can wear it again for the game. Is that silly? Sure. Does anybody actually believe that performing a certain ritual will guarantee a certain outcome? Um - yeah, actually. It's called religion.

People find comfort in repeated and structured actions whether it's something as simple as donning their favorite jersey for a game or as complicated as performing mummification on a recently departed loved one. I think I'd draw the line at mummification as a pre-game ritual though....too time consuming.

why does it matter? do you think me posting that picture will honestly have any effect on the game? please. It does not matter. It just would have made a great thread for you to post right after the SB.

I'm not saying rituals or supersitions are a bad thing, I probably have a few hundred that I'd be afraid to break too. At half time of the philly game i felt like my t-shirt was bad luck so I changed it, is that why we won? I was just commenting on the fact that I don't think what people do/wear/say really have an impact on the game.

Darrell Green used to keep Tootsie Rolls in his cleats for every game. Towards the end of his career he was slower even though the Tootsie Rolls were still in his shoe. Does that mean that the candy stopped working or that they made no real difference in the first place?

I just have a problem believing that something like a shirt, or candy, or the fact that someone showed everyone the bet that he made a couple of months ago can affect the outcome of a game, that's all I was saying.

HOWEVER, if your rituals are working, for the love of God don't stop until we leave Detriot with Gibbs' fourth ring!!!!!
