Matt Hasselbeck on Philly

Seattle quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck credited the Seahawks' recent success with having a distraction-free training camp.

In comparing Seattle to other teams, he brought up the Philadelphia Eagles, calling them the Philadelphia "Egos." Asked later during Tuesday's conference calls if he meant to say "Egos," Hasselbeck said: "You know what? That could be my subconscious coming out right there. I'm kidding. I have a lot of respect for those guys. But I guess I did say it.

"It was an accident."

He has made some asinine comments before but, wow, this guys is full of himself. Quick, someone breaks something on him.

hasselbeck and the 'hawks schedule = joketime.

Just remember this is also the same guy who said, "We’ll take the ball and we’re going to score!” after winning the coin toss headed into overtime against Green Bay in the 03-04 playoffs. I think we all know how well that worked.

Translation: "That is exactly what I think about the Eagles. I was not kidding. I have nothing but contempt for those guys."

He is right though, Eagles do suck.
