Stacks42 01-11-2006, 01:12 PM A friend of mine who authenticates videos, said that the video looks doctored. He told me to watch the film, check out how, the spitting section of the video comes up, the video breaks up into single frames, not regular slo mo. I am sure that some crappy website would have this visual proof, before ESPN or any other media outlet (thats saracasm).

I would not like to believe in this conspiracy theory and before we lose any credibility as Redskins fans, I motion for us to take this with a grain of salt and think about Seattle (even though I did start the thread :)).
Cooley 350Z 01-11-2006, 01:19 PM Guys, lets save all the legal/ethical debates for the offseason. I can't believe we are one win away from the conference championship game & here we are discussing someone's saliva. If he did it, he should be ashamed, if he didn't then he got screwed out of $17K, if the tape has been tampered with then someone has too much time on their hands. Either way, it changes nothing. Get past it...
dgack 01-11-2006, 02:23 PM Just curious, if the roles were reversed, if Pittman spit at Taylor, would you have the same exact opinion of the incident?? I'm sure you'll say yes for the sake of supporting your "unemotional views", but I'm inclined to think you wouldn't have the same view.
What an absurd question. Is this not a site for fans of the Redskins? Why on Earth are you so hell-bent on tearing down the guys who play for them?
Q: What does Michael Pittman say to a woman with two black eyes?
A: Nothing. He's already told that bitch twice to sit down and shut up.
70Chip 01-11-2006, 02:23 PM Just watching 'Sounds of the Game' on NFL Network and they had the referee Mike Carey wired for sound. He was all over Taylor right away. Another ref tried to lobby for offsetting fouls for Pittman's punch but was rebuffed by Carey. The other official responds "Are you sure Mike?" Carey then announces that there will be no flag for retaliation. Later, when Omar Stoutmire asks Carey why Taylor was ejected, Carey tells him that he spit on Pittman and nearly spit on him (Carey) as well. "That would have been really bad" says Carey. After watching that I have no doubt about what happened. Taylor was the spitter. If I am Gregg Williams I am not happy about being lied to either. Everyone makes mistakes but to lie about it is childish and reveals a lack of character. He put Williams in bad position.
Alot of the highlights were based around Mike Carey's being miked and I have to say that he did a great job in that game. If the league had 15 more like him Mike Perreira would have alot less explaining to do on Wednesdays.

FYI, TMC posted that clip to the first post of this thread.

I agree 100% - I really thought the refs did a good job in that game. I would have liked to see an offsetting penalty on Pittman, but I can understand Carey's decision.

Okay, I didn't see the program...could you see Taylor spit from their camera angles or was it the same angle just with Carey being miked?
I don't know, I'm just asking.

One has nothing to do with the other.
I'm not tearing down ST, he's done that to himself quite well.
70Chip 01-11-2006, 02:34 PM Its NFL Films so it's a different view than ESPN. I didn't see any spit per se but Carey definitely saw something. It may be that the video that shows the spit was doctored to frame a guilty man. Someone with better computers than me should compare. I use dial up so I don't even like to download video. It takes too long. However, I suspect that if the NFL films angle was definitive it would be played ad nauseum in order to put Williams on the spot.
"How does it feel to be lied to coach?"
