Anyone else SICK of the media/commentators?

I was this close to hurling my TV out the window last night and this morning listening to the commentators (even Theisman!) and some sports talk shows this morning on ESPN.

Evidently Gruden and Simms are the media's little darlings because everyone f-ing one of them is lining up to fellate these guys. I mean shit, the Skins, while the victory sure wasn't pretty, LED the ENTIRE game and WON. But what do we here all day long? John Gruden this, Chris Simms that. And when the game is over and they switch back to the studio, what do Michael Irvin and Steve Young have to say? "Wow look how impressive Chris Simms was, what a competitor, and where is John Gruden so I can drop my pants and let him give it to me up the ass?"

Sorry to sound so pissed - I've just been livid with the friggin media attention these guys get. I'm no fan of the Patriots and Tom Brady but at least they've earned alot of the attention. All this jabbering on about Gruden and his 1 Super Bowl - how about taking a glance across the field at the Hall of Fame coach with 3 Super Bowl Rings? Did that not occur to anyone?

If I hadn't been at someone else's house watching the game with a bunch of other people I would have muted the TV and turned on the radio.

****in' media.

I agree. But I will say this, the skins win was ugly from the offensive side of the ball. It really overshadows one of the best DEFENSIVE games in a long time. Everyone is saying that TB has no offense, yada, yada, yada....well, they didn't say that shit when they put up 35 on us...screw the media, this team is ON FIRE. I am not saying they will go any further, but I GUARANTEE we are in the spotlight next season when we pick up a legitimate #2 and #3 wideout. LOOK OUT, 2 in a row could be in order!!!

i would rather them ignore us, so we can fly in under the radar and prove everyone wrong, like we've done all season

Mike Lupica on the Sports Reporters was especially irritating this morning. He was going on about how the obvious formula to beat us is to double cover Santana, thus totally shutting down our offense. Great logic actually, except that obviously Tampa didn't beat us.

Be that as it may, we should get used to it because the Skins are not going to get ANY benefit of the doubt from outside the beltway for the rest of this season at all. After each game everyone will look to the next weekend and say "Yes, but they wont beat [so-and-so], not in the [whatever game] because [such-and-such] has such a great defense and are playing at home".

It's amazing that we're the hottest team in the NFL and a darkhorse at the same time.

It has always been that way. I can't remember the last time any ESPN people picked the Skins. I don't think "Swami" has ever picked the Skins to win. But that is OK, let us be the underdog the win is sweeter that way.

Damn right, and why do you think TOM BRADY was in the media a few days ago talking about how the Patriots didn't get any respect? Because it's a motivator.

As much as I bagged on the Ravens team that won the Super Bowl for being boring and just the best of a field of mediocre competitors, nobody can take that ring away from them. And I feel the same way about every win we get.

Any given Sunday. And we have another Sunday to prove them wrong coming up again.

I totally agree. I have been sick of it since the second we won the game and bucs fans started calling my house saying we're gonna need more offense to beat seattle, then its all over the media - what a joke. UUUmmm, hello? we didn't need ANY offense to beat Tampa. Isn't that the object of the game - to win? Too bad "golden boy" Chris Simms and Gruden's "awesome" offense won't have anyone to play next week, they'll be at home sitting on their asses, along with "Chevy Nova" Williams who was shut down for less yards than Portis.

Further, if I recall, against Arizona we didn't exactly put on an offense clinic, but WE WON. The week after that, we beat the living shit out of the cowgirls, an offense clinic was displayed. The results of both games - WINS!

Isn't that the object here? to win, how is that getting lost?

Joe Gibbs will win, period. That's what matters. The media is a bunch of dum asses. I can't wait to beat Seattle. Be it by one point or a hundred!

I know... they were all over their jocks yesterday. I couldn't believe it... you would think they were out there up 30-0. I'm starting to hate Chirs simms too. Did you see him doing the whole c'mon shit with his hand just before he ran out of bounds on his scramble?

New least fav. QB's:

1) Eli
2) Chris Simms
3) Chad Pennington
