The Spitting Ejection

I really don't see him being suspended, but maybe someone could look up to see what's happened in the past with spiting incidents.

The NFL will definitely slap him with a nice fine.

Taylor will not be suspended. I think it was ridiculous that they ejected him in the first place, whether he actually spat or not.

I don't want to hear this crap about this kind of thing being "classless". That's p*ssy talk if you ask me. NFL football is dirty. At the bottom of piles, guys jam their thumbs up the anuses of the ball carrier. There is eye gouging, scratching, and guys purposely twist the feet of those who are known to have sprained ankles.

The NFL is an image concious league, and that is no doubt why they came down so hard on Bill Romanowski when he spit; because his spit was so blatantly visible on national TV. But I ask you, did anyone actually see Sean Taylor spit on the replay? I sure can't.

And that's why he won't be suspended. The NFL would consider suspending him if it was a visibly dispicable Romanowski-style incident, but the truth is nobody can tell.

I am personally with Brud, if guys spit, SO F*CKING WHAT. It's the NFL, it's not high school. So it's gross, who cares?! I can take it. The fact that Taylor was ejected doesn't bother me so much, because I can see a ref ejecting a player for spitting for the game. But I can't see suspending someone for that. It's not like he pulled a Marcus Vick and stepped on his leg, it's SPIT for god's sakes, it doesn't hurt. Pittman will get over it!

But in the end, I don't care if Taylor got ejected, because we didnt' lose. There's no way the NFL will suspend him, so don't worry about it.

Spitting in another mans face is a classless act Schneed10 plain and simple. A little sweat and some spit coming out of a guys mouth on a hit is one thing but hocking on someone is totally different. I can't believe you really think there is nothing wrong with that and it is part of football.Although I hope he does not get suspended, if he really did it; and I believe he did, he should get fined. Sure stuff goes on at the bottom of a pile up and dirty play happens. But it does not make it right. Just ask the guy with the digit up his anus.
Defend a lougey hocker all you want. Looks like you must have been an XFL fan where classlessness was king and you probably got 3 points for getting a snotwad through a guys face mask....but this is the NFL. No place for that in this league.

I couldn't tell when Taylor spit on Pittman, but I can tell you when Pittman clearly hit Taylor in the face. The fact that Pittman continued unpunished after clocking a player is stunning.

I agree with you on Pittman. If anything these should have been offsetting. Spitting on someone is pretty gross but it shouldn't give the "victim" free reign to take a swing at you.

I can't believe anyone is even defending the action of someone spitting in another person's face. Wow, I'm kinda shocked actually.

Guys I have a high def 62 inch tv and saw nothing to indicate spitting in any way. Nothing. If he spit it was the weakest nothing spit in history. I think it is quite possible he simply spittled while talking to the guy. It was a crap situation. I think there should have been two off-setting flags and no ejection.

Is it possible that the spitting is a cover up excuse for a call the ESPN guys were grilling the refs for? I mean seriously who can spit invisibly? It is impossible. The angle is good enough to know if he actually spit. It doesn't look at all like he spit. He'd have to confess to it to conivnce me he spit. There is no evidence. Just because a ref said he did means nothing to me when we all basically grill these guys week in and week out. They make mistakes all the time. I don't trust their word anymore than I'd trust a 75 cent hooker.

It was probably a loose, watery spit and not a lougey wad. Regardless the ref was right there and threw the flag. It had to have been flagrant enough to him and not an inadvertant phlemation in order to have thrown the flag. I thionk an off setting penalty would have been appropriate but now it is moot.....because WE WON!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get to watch the entire game at work and I get home to find out my vcr crapped out of recording the game about 20 freakin seconds into it :screama: :banghead: :censored: , but I had multiple groups of people, some skins fans and some weren't, coming into work after the game was over and say the exact same thing: the ref wasn't even looking in the direction of the players when the supposed spitting took place. If he really did it, while it's kind of a chicken wussie way reason to eject someone it is the rules, but some type of punishment should have been given to Pittman for swinging and connecting with Sean Taylor's head. the fact that there wasn't a call on that is I think what has so many of us pissed off about this. And while I definitely do not condone spitting in someone's face, in as nasty a sport as football, that's a pretty weak way to eject someone from a playoff game. If it had been into the face of a ref like Alomar did a few years back for the orioles, it would deserve an immediate ejection and multiple week suspension.
