22stillrocks 01-08-2006, 02:41 PM Just a side note, according to Chris Cooley, Taylor DID spit on Pittman, but that was after Pittman smacked him in the head. They got the guy who retaliated.
Hello... anyone home...
Did anyone actually see the game here???
Come on, Pittman smacked him while the ref pulled them apart. It was at the end. If he did spit after, he would have hit the ref.
Did you see pittmans reaction. Something happened to make him do what he did. Hell, he should have beat the piss out of him. Lucky all he got was a little slap.

I'm not condoning what Taylor did in the slightest, because if he really did do that, I think its terrible....but Pittman is lucky that he only got a little slap in, cause Taylor would have knocked the crap out of that guy.

Is it still burning you up that your band of criminals didn't make the post-season?
Aw.....

exactly, everywhere from ESPN to fan sites people are saying if i was pittman taylor would be on the ground blah blah blah. Even Pittman said if it was on the street taylor would get worse. The truth is Taylor could beat the shit out of pittman like no ones business. I just find it funny everyone thinks Taylor should have and could have gotten hit harder. I guess that is the type of reputation he will get. Not a strong big player but a punk bitch.
For what it's worth, Brian Mitchell was doing the postgame analysis on ComCast, and he said he was SHOCKED that anyone would get even a flag for spitting. He was laughing, like, "Spitting?! Are you kidding?! Do you know how often that happens in an NFL game?!"
I know he's a homer and stuff, but still, I thought that was interesting.
Maybe it does happen but when you do it in front of a ref it's gonna be called 100% of the time.
Hogroll 01-08-2006, 03:15 PM I can't help but think that the refs were a little trigger happy as it was. Do you recall that when Antonio Brown muffed the catch on the Buc's punt in the first quarter? There were 3 Redskins on the recover, not a Buc around, and the initial call on the field was it was the Bucaneer's ball! Of course, they realized that it couldn't have been, as there wasn't any around...
IMHO.
Schneed10 01-08-2006, 06:52 PM This is about the only point in the argument that we can all agree on. All the rest of the bitching and moaning about how Taylor is a punk or whether he did or didn't do it is completely irrelevant. He put the team in a position that could have cost us the game and that's the part that is reprehensible.
Let me ask those of you who seem hell-bent on hanging him out to dry because he's such a bad person this:
If Taylor spit in someone else's face during a game, and nobody saw it, and the national press hadn't picked up on it, and we ended up winning that game because of a play he made later in the game, are you telling me your integrity demands that he be ejected and punished just the same, even if it means we lose the game and ergo don't go to the playoffs?
Are you really so appalled by the "dishonor" of the alleged act, or is it really that you're embarrassed? I'm guessing the latter.
A lot of you guys seem to be holier-than-thou with respect to Lavar and Taylor, to the point where you talk like you're prepared to endure another losing season if that's what it takes to get these "losers" and "punks" off the team. Well, I wonder if you realize how many games we won BECAUSE of those guys, and that we'd be playing golf with the Eagles right now without them.
Tremendous post. I agree with this 1000%.
JWsleep 01-08-2006, 07:21 PM Oh, Sean--can you PLEASE get your head out of your ass? I love you, man, but god, that was a boneheadded move. If we lost, man...
(Note: Sorry, I didn't read the whole thread. I agree with everything everyone said, though ;))
jtm74 01-08-2006, 08:07 PM if it wasnt for the meathead we lose the game
ladyfan06 01-08-2006, 08:13 PM The ref can bite me!
Granted if ST did indeed spit, yes he should have been ejected BUT with that being said, Pittman should not get a freebie either. He was not penalized at all and even if that "weak ass slap" (and yes it was weak) was in defense for being spat on...it sends the message in the NFL that you are ALLOWED to retaliate WITHOUT consequence....that is the message I got.
