i agree.how can anyone that considers themselves a true skins fan even think that about mark brunell?

I don't think Brunell sucks at all, and this thread is a bit of a knee jerk, but I do think it's funny that hating on Brunell makes someone not a Redskin fan. And yet, there's a 20 page thread of LaVar hating, which is perfectly acceptable, when he's one of the longest tenured, and most popular Redskins. :frusty:

I'll admit I was down on Brunell in the first half like many others here. But I will give the man his props. He played like a smart savvy veteran in the second half which is why Gibbs has him running the show in the first place. He plays with guts and determination and a desire to win. I think it was in the middle of the 4th quarter when we had the ball and he dropped back to pass, saw daylight, and ran for a first down. Now if I were him especially after getting my knee whacked against the Giants, the last thing I'd be thinking about is running. Props to Brunell for showing some guts and playing to win. He may not be the most gifted QB on the field today, but he's experienced, he's smart, and he does what it takes to win. In the end, that's what counts.

I used to hate Brunell last year I will be the first to admit it, he brought me around this year and today while wearing my Brunell jersey I never gave up faith, I trust Brunell from the first Dallas game til he calls it quits, as I do with Gibbs

check this quote: "Let's settle this question once and for all. Brunell is still an extremely viable NFL quarterback, a fine leader with physical courage who sees the whole field and whose arms and legs are very much alive."

so basically, if you still think he sucks (sitting here at 10-6 in the playoffs), you're worse than sally jenkins (this is her quote).

He should not be back next season.

What drugs are you on??? Yes he didn't do well today but he was hurt!!! I would have put in Ramsey because a hurt Burnell was maybe a little worst. If both are well hand down Burnell is better then Ramsey!!! So lay of the drugs and just say NO!!!! :smashfrea

Brunell got us to the playoffs, and I think he wants payback time in Tampa.

Brunell has started 15 of 16 games and we're in the playoffs. His main target Santana Moss just broke the all time Redskins receiving record by Bobby Mitchell set over 40 years ago. Glad we don't have Vick, Favre, Bledsoe, Brees, McNabb, Collins, Carr, Harrington, etc. We're in!!! Brunell has us in the playoffs!!!
GO REDSKINS!!!

I think Brunell has 1 mode and that's look for Moss, if that option is closed he immediatly checks off to Cooley, the problem that arouse today is Philli took Cooley away from him, essentially removing his saftey net, Brunell doesn't seem to be able to look for the #2 reciever. He did make a big play to Thrash and had all he could do to reach him, his deep ball stay's in the air a long time, you have to be pretty wide open for the defender not to be able to close in on it as Thrash was.

He defiently was off target today, but I think Philli's coverage had as much to do with that as his injury. The problem that we have is Tampa saw exactly what the Eagles did and will attempt to do the same thing to us next week.

This is Brunell's season to win or lose, I still stand firm on my stance that we would be a better team with Ramsey at the controls, but I would be worried at this point in the season to have Ramsey playing in a big playoff game without the luxory of playing in an offense for a legitamate amount of playing time. But unless Brunell can't walk Gibbs isn't going to replace him no matter how bad he plays, it was pretty obvious that Brunell wasen't ready to play, if that wasen't the case we will have a problem come saturday, hopefully he heals up by then, we can't rely on TO's by the opposition to bail us out.

I'm sure glad we didn't have chat boards when Sonny was lofting those floaters late in his career. We would never have allowed him to stay in Washington to do the game-day analysis.
